Ingredients

- Bone-in New York Strip Steak

- large sweet onions, cut into quarters
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Method
- Step 1
- Preheat a charcoal or gas barbecue grill to high heat.
- Step 2
- In a bowl, mash together salsa and avocado until smooth.
- Step 3
- Squeeze lime over salsa and mix juice in.
- Step 4
- Set aside.
- Step 5
- Brush olive oil over meat and onions; season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Step 6
- Lay steaks and onions over heat.
- Step 7
- If using a gas grill, close lid and open vents.
- Step 8
- Cook, turning meat and onions a few times until steaks are done to your liking and onions are browned and softened, 10-12 minutes for rare.
- Step 9
- Onions will begin to separate into layers so remove layers from grill as done.
- Step 10
- Transfer meat and onions to a large serving platter.

- Cut meat across the grain into slices.
- Step 12
- Serve with salsa verde mixture to add to taste.
