- head iceberg lettuce
- 1 jar
- hoisin sauce
- 8.5 oz.
- 1/4 cup
- soy sauce
- 1 package
- ground turkey meat
- 1.25 lbs
- carrots, peeled and diced into 1/4" pieces
- 1 can
- water chestnuts, drained, diced into 1/4" pieces
- 8 oz.
- green onions, washed, trimmed and chopped
- black pepper, to taste
Carefully remove large outer leaves from lettuce head.
Wash and pat dry about 8 lettuce leaves/cups. Set aside.
Combine hoisin and soy sauces. Set aside.
Brown ground turkey in a 12" non-stick skillet, about 2-3 minutes.
Season with black pepper. Add carrots and water chestnuts.
Continue cooking for 2-3 more minutes.
Add hoisin and soy sauce, mix well and continue cooking until sauce is heated. Mix in green onions.
Place one to two lettuce cups onto a plate.
Scoop approximately 1/2 cup of filling into the center of the lettuce cup. Serve with chopped peanuts.
